Writing
As indicated in my bio (found in the About Rick link), I've been telling stories most
of my life. While working in high tech electrical engineering, I wrote technical
articles for trade magazines, which whetted my appetite for writing in general.
I'd written off and on or years, but never actually completed anything, until November 2012
when I participated in NaNoWriMo, the National November Writing Month. It's a competition
of sorts, but the rewards one gets are a sense of completion. The goal is to write
50,000 words in the month of November. I grabbed a topic out of the air and was off to
the races, so to speak. I wrote a 100,000 word novel that was later broken into 4 parts to publish
on the Amazon Kindle Platform under the pseudonym Penelope Pengold. The four episodes are also
available as a single title, and will soon be re-edited and published in paperback form. It is
essentially a series of episodes told by a mid-thirties hit woman, taking out the bad guys one at a time.
Most recently, I participated in writing an anthology with our local group: The Volcano Writers Group.
We typically meet alternate Mondays to discuss our writing, review and support one another.
The anthology is named "Volcano Writers Group Presents Out of our Minds: Voice From The Mists"
I'll put a link in here to the book as soon as Amazon starts taking orders, as they've shut down t-shirt
production and print on demand books so they can put priority on items needed to combat the Corona Virus.
